Having heard quite a bit about Vancouver-based Young Galaxy, I made sure to head to a recent Junior Boys show with plenty of time to catch their full set. The second I heard Catherine McCandless’s aching voice layered over a dream-pop sound, I thought of Katie Ketch, lead singer of the new defunct band The Organ (also from Vancouver).  Thanks, L word, for that reference in 2004. Seriously, they sound the same.


Young Galaxy certainly put on a great show - the crowd was dancing, having fun, and - more importantly - actually listening. Excited to see them live again.
